See the nice new punk style my younger daughter gave herself? I was thrilled you can be sure. I figured out that if I put both sides in pigtails that you can't see it, so I guess she'll be wearing pigtails for the next year.

Makes me laugh- can you imagine going into the bathroom, lookin in the mirror and deciding- "I know I'll give myself a haircut; why not?"

Sean-It's awful but she looks so funny! I guess you can see by the picture that her hair was very long before she did it. She wacked off a good four inches. And has shown absolutely no remorse for having done it. She seems to think that I can take her to the hairdresser and make it long again. Mia is a law unto herself.
Mel-Well, it's either the pigtails or cut all her hair that short and I pulled her hair up to see how she would look if I did that and she would look like a little boy. So, it's pigtals. I guess it'll grow before I know it.
Ouch! I know how moms are. She may think it's fine, but to you she butchered herself into an eyesore.

Eric-I'm not thrilled. If you had kids, it would certainly interfere with your writing. Merry Christmas to you as well.
Kids have to be watched every minute or they do all sorts of silly things.
But it's hard to watch them every minute. It's a wonder kids make it to twenty. I know that it's a wonder I made it to twenty, let alone 64.
I think that I would trim it all back and tell her that if she wants long hair again that she will just have to wait until it grows back.
That's just one of life's lessons she will have to learn. Life is lessons, one after the other and you keep getting them over and over again until you get it, or not.
